SQLiteWrappers v1.03

July 21, 2012

Just to let everyone know that v1.03 of SQLiteWrappers has been released.

  • SQLITE3WRAPPERS_WCHAR_T_SUPPORT preprocessor value has been removed and been replaced with the opposite which is SQLITE3WRAPPERS_NO_WCHAR_T_SUPPORT. By default the classes will now support wchar_t string values unless the new SQLITE3WRAPPERS_NO_WCHAR_T_SUPPORT is defined.
  • Removed unnecessary reinterpret_cast’s from the sample app.

    Nice job on SQLiteWrappers v1.03

I’ve been working with embedded databases in my c++ projects for a couple years. I use them mostly for somewhat high volume inserts during database merge pre-processing.

Your wrapper on my development desktop seems to top out at around 170K inserts per second producing a sample 200Mb database file from a 4.5 million record sample source. Neat trick since without your wrapper very (very) similar code only averages 165K inserts per second with the same SQLite engine using the native methods, haven’t isolated the different yet but it was a pleasant surprise.

    Cheers,
    Gabriel

Not sure what the difference would be because in the end you will still be calling the SQLite methods. Perhaps its because my wrapper class is implemented as a header file only and that somehow produced better inlined code in your client app.
